Simon Maseru, a daring 20-year-old robber who mugged his victim in broad daylight in Sakubva, Mutare has been slapped with a four-year jail term by a Mutare court.

The young man, convicted on his own plea of guilt, was convicted of robbery and sentenced to five years imprisonment before a year of the sentence was suspended on condition of good behaviour.

On the 21st of June, Maseru and his two accomplices blocked the road for the complainant who was riding his bicycle to a church around 4 pm.

A report which was made to the police and investigations led to Maseru’s arrest.-ZBC
